How to Get Ready for Your First Online/Virtual Personal Training Session

Starting your first online personal training session is exciting — and at A-Class Fitness, we want to make sure you feel confident, prepared, and ready to get the most out of your time with your coach.
This guide walks you through everything you need to know before your first session so your experience is smooth, stress-free, and fully optimized for results.

1. Use Two Devices for the Best Experience

Your A-Class Fitness coaching sessions happen directly inside the A-Class Fitness Mobile App.
To keep things simple and comfortable:

Use two devices if you can:

  • Device #1: For your video call (phone, tablet, laptop, or computer)

  • Device #2: For viewing your workouts inside the A-Class Fitness App

Many clients prefer using a laptop or phone for the video call, because it’s easier to adjust during different exercises.
This setup helps you stay focused and makes the session flow smoothly without switching screens.

2. Set Up Your Camera (Tripod Recommended!)

Your coach needs to see you moving so they can correct your form, give cues, and guide you safely.

To help with that:

  • A tripod for your phone/tablet is highly recommended

  • It allows you to easily move and adjust the camera angle

  • Not mandatory — but it greatly improves the session experience

  • If you already know how to position your device so your coach can see you clearly, you’re good to go

Good angles = better coaching = better results.

 

3. Schedule Your Session Inside the App

All sessions are booked inside the A-Class Fitness App through our user-friendly calendar.

Here’s how it works:

  • Every session is 60 minutes long

  • You can join the session 5 minutes early if you want to get set up

  • Your coach can join early as well

  • Sessions are booked using your session credits

Just open the calendar, choose your time slot, and you’re set.
If you’re unsure which time works best, message your coach — they’ll help you plan around your schedule.

4. Cancellation Window (24 Hours)

Life happens — we get it.

Clients have 24 hours to cancel a scheduled session. When they do so their session credit is not used.
If a session is cancelled less than 24 hours before the start time, the credit will be counted.

If you have an emergency or a concern, just message your coach directly — we’re here to support you and keep things fair.

5. Warm Up Before Your Coach Arrives (Optional but Helpful)

To make the most of the 60-minute session, we recommend warming up before your session starts so you’re ready to go.

However:

  • If you prefer to warm up during the session, that’s perfectly fine

  • Your coach can guide you through it at the beginning

Warming up early simply helps you maximize the coaching time you’re paying for.

6. Session Credits Automatically Track Your Usage

Every session you complete = 1 credit used
Once the session ends, the credit will automatically be deducted from your account.
You don’t need to track anything manually — the app handles everything for you.

7. Prepare Your Space

A small, clean workout area makes a big difference in how smoothly your session goes. You don’t need a full home gym — just enough room to move safely without adjusting things mid-workout. If you have equipment like dumbbells, resistance bands, or a workout mat, keep them nearby before the session starts so everything is ready when your coach begins.

8. Test Your Internet & Audio

A quick 10-second tech check can save you from interruptions during your session. Make sure your internet connection is stable and that your microphone and speakers are working properly. Clear audio and a smooth connection help your coach guide you effectively, resulting in a better, more productive session overall.
